How to Boost Your Mental Health at Work
Bearing in mind how important mental health is for all of us, below you can find 10 tips on how to boost it during your work routine. The proposed techniques are just the tip of an iceberg, and the list is not finite. Read and inspire how to put priority on mental health. And remember – even the smallest changes can make a great difference!
1. Start mindfully
You start your day with social media scrolling? Ditch it and kickstart your day with meditation, yoga or just a few minutes of focus, to calm your mind and set the right mindset.
2. Tune with your strengths
Stepping outside of comfort zone might not work for all. Instead try to align your projects with your strengths and see how you thrive!
3. Out with comparing!
Comparison is a thief of joy. Everyone is different- so let’s celebrate yourself and your achievements.
4. Gratitude above all
Do you know any magical words? “Thank you” is a powerful word, don’t be afraid to use it – for yourself and your coworkers.
5. Vent it out!
Do not drown in your own emotions! Find colleagues, groups of friends or a support community, grab a coffee and vent it out. Relief will follow shortly.
6. Acknowledge Your Emotions
What you feel is valid and important – accept it without judgement. Acknowledge you might have ups and downs with palette of diverse emotions rolling over your head. Fact, they are temporary helps you manage them better. And if you don’t – do not be afraid to ask for help.
7. Breaks are good
Do a quick stretch or go for a walk. Most importantly: take a break from your screen. Physical activity is always a good idea. And if you encourage your colleagues to do the same, it gets even better. The more the merrier!
8. Lend a Hand
There is no greater joy and way to boost your mood than helping others. Mentoring circles, taking on a new project or simply active listening? Find your way and cultivate a culture of mutual support.
9. Laugh out loud!
Laughter truly is the best medicine. Not only does it boost your mood but also helps you to connect with others and relax. So don’t be afraid of having a bit of fun while working.
10. Keep learning
Keep your mind sharp but open. Engage in important conversations, learn new skills, inspire others and search for inspiration. This will help you build your confidence and give you a sense of purpose.
These are just a few simple steps to boost your mental health at work. Always remember to take care of yourself and others.
