We build relationships with Shell partners at every level of the organisation. The impact of our work is not limited to the traditional remit of customer service, but touches all areas of project work within SBO.
Customer Operations (CO) is the important link between Shell’s customers and internal Shell departments. Currently, the Kraków department cooperates with customers and Shell business partners from Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg.
Our asset relationships with customers are long term and based on maintaining the highest service standards.

The HR Operations team empowers performance through efficient operations and quality advice to employees and line managers. Our Krakow-based team supports a number of countries, such as the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, South Africa and - of course – Poland

The team was set up in 2006 as HR Services, predominantly focused on effective and efficient execution of HR processes. In 2018 we transformed into HR Operations, as a part of implementation of the world class HR support model. Since then, we have been on an exciting transition journey, with focus on more business impact, better employee experience and stepping into a digital future. We are growing, our portfolio continues to expand, which allows to gather various experiences and creates multiple career pathways (operational & advisory jobs, across many functional HR areas, and geographies). Our strength comes from a strong collaboration with various HR partners across the globe, to provide end-to-end high-quality HR support to our stakeholders.

We carry out the logistics processes of Shell in Europe, planning and controlling fuel deliveries to petrol stations, commercial customers and airports. We are also responsible for financial settlements for Shell fleet operations, a network of 3,000 lorries that covers over a million kilometres a day. We support the creation of Shell contracts and agreements in numerous world regions. We cooperate with almost 19.500 contractors of the company and are responsible for tens of thousands of contracts and millions of invoices. We optimise Shell’s procurement processes, making the business of the company more effective.

The Contracting & Procurement (CP) department takes part in global negotiations of Shell contracts and orders on a daily basis. It also establishes relationships with business partners from various regions of the world. The employees of the CP department are constantly supporting Shell in building its position as a leading group of asset energy and petrochemical companies. Financiers, traders, linguists and experienced managers who create the CP team are the face of the company for its numerous business partners, including 19.500 contractors and more then 32.000 suppliers. It is an acknowledgement of the importance in the life of Shell of the specialists from the CP department.

We are one of the youngest departments of SBO Kraków, responsible for organising thousands of materials that power Shell factories in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Our Story
The Lubricants Supply Chain (LSC) department is responsible for supplying crucial materials to Shell factories across the globe.
Base oils, fuel components, packages and stickers are delivered through the Lubricants Supply Chain to 10 locations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A role here is an opportunity to learn about different work cultures and procedures, and to gain vast knowledge about the supply process in international projects. In addition to that our LSC Logistics team supports stock management in two 3P Distribution Centres in Europe as well as ensuring a smooth logistics supplier payment and contract management process.

Best asset Continuous Improvement and Deliver Value to Shell

Have you wondered how the fuel gets to the Retail Site, or who looks after international commodity trading? It’s Trading and Supply Operations. Trading and Supply Operations in SBO comprises of the Order to Delivery, Shell Voyage Claims and Operations Support teams. In Krakow SBO we have more than 190 people who support Trading & Supply in its joint activities with passion, competence and continuous improvement approach.

Our Story
Shell Trading and Supply key hubs are in London, Houston, Singapore, Dubai and Rotterdam, where our traders make deals on crude oil, natural gas, LNG, electrical power, refined products, chemical feedstocks and environmental products. The execution of the trading deals requires a wide range of activities, expertise and responsibilities. Our Voyage & Claims teams in Krakow play a vital role in maximizing recoveries, minimize payments and ensure that the value of the trading deal is protected through its lifecycle. Operations Support manages reporting, Non-oil invoices verification, Voyage actualisation, system updates.
The Order to Delivery teams manage the delivery of fuels from the refinery to the Retail sites: we are the enablers who help distribute Shell’s fuel products. Speaking 9 foreign languages, we cooperate with partners from the Benelux countries, the DACH region and Central and Eastern Europe. We supervise the entire process of the fuel supply chain. Our core activities are planning the fuel deliveries using trucks on the road, which load fuels at terminals and discharge at the retail sites. We have experienced professionals in logistics, customer service, finance and many talented linguists and analysts.

The Kraków Legal team is part of the Shell Legal function, and provides the opportunity to work in one of the world’s best and largest in-house legal teams, serving a world-class, international energy company of global standing, with high ethical standards and brand recognition.

Our Story
The Legal team started in March 2017. It is split between the Shell Ethics and Compliance Office, Legal Services Global Operations team and Legal Services Projects & Technology team.
We undertake a broad range of work as trusted advisors and business partners in order to ensure that the activities performed by Shell are in accordance with the highest ethical standards and legal requirements.
In Ethics and Compliance, we provide comprehensive support and advice to various Shell businesses globally in terms of identification and management of ethical and compliance risks. We advise on the priorities of the Group Ethics and Compliance programme and manage various compliance operational processes and tools. We execute integrity screening process aimed to verify identity and integrity of Shell counterparties. We also provide support to Shell businesses in terms of Data Privacy matters and the implementation of the Information Management programme.
In Legal Services Projects & Technology (LSPT) we focus on the analysis of various legal issues regarding the sale of Shell products and services. We review and draft agreements and other legal documents with Shell’s counterparties. We also advise on IT and export restriction matters.
In Legal Services Global Operations (LSGO) we provide legal advice in terms of variety of corporate matters, Safety and Environment matters and Contracting and Procurement for IT.

We are multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals with qualification in Petroleum, Mechanical Engineering, Geophysics, Geology, Reservoir and Well Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation.
We are supporting Shell Operating Units and global teams with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Subsurface and Wells data management activities.

Our Story
The global TAO team – now close to 2000 staff in 4 locations - provides services and remote technical operations support to multiple Shell assets in Integrated Gas and Renewables & Energy Solutions, Chemical & Products Manufacturing, Upstream and Sub-Surface Wells & Reservoirs Facility Management. TAO's focus on safe, standardized, effective, and efficient process delivery drives tangible results, including reduced costs, improved asset availability, better margin opportunities, enhanced sharing of best practices & lessons learned, and reduced carbon emissions across the portfolio. We use data as a valuable business asset no different from physical Shell assets or people and strive to maximize the return we generate from Shell assets.

The team in Krakow consists of two main groups:

Subsurface and Wells & Reservoir Facility Management (WRFM) oversees end-to-end data management from exploration to abandonment for Asset Operations. The Team provides technical support for Well Engineering, Petrophysics and Geophysics. Their key responsibilities include loading and managing subsurface data, resolving data quality issues, participating in data projects, driving data quality improvement, and performing data management tasks.

Field Execution Optimization provides best-in-class integrated capability to support field execution activities in assets and projects. FEO sharpens the focus on maintenance and turnaround execution excellence by supporting work planning & work pack preparation activities for maintenance & turnaround, work permit preparation, maintenance optimization and project services.

TAO team in Krakow started in December 2017 and within 5 years we were able to build energetic and diverse group of professionals helping Shell perform better (safer, more reliable, more profitable). Starting from 2023 we accelerate our grow and explore new capabilities (e.x. Reservoir Engineering).
